"Ripple”

Artist Statement

The idea for the composition of “Ripple” came from what I initially thought of when given the task of visualizing what “Small Business” means to me. I am a visual artist, and a small business owner, I have worked for myself as an artist for the past ten years. As a small business owner, my work, just like other small business owners, is dependent upon what I do, and how others respond to what I am doing. A metaphor for a business is like throwing a stone into a body of water, a business has a direct effect on its surroundings. Given that, and in keeping with my style as an abstract artist, this is my interpretation of “Small Business”.
