Will Jenkins (Sir Will)

Sir Will is a multi-disciplinary artist. Deeply inspired by the cultural styles and traditions developed by Black communities in the South, his work celebrates the vibrant essence of his upbringing. Growing up with limited access to representation of Black artists, Sir Will has forged his own artistic identity, drawing heavily from the South’s warm colors, cars, and fashion and the influence of the strong women in his family.

Through photography, he transforms portraits into captivating, interactive pieces that connect to his history and heritage while celebrating the cultural significance of his roots. In addition to his personal art practice, Sir Will is a dedicated contributor to the Charlotte arts community, serving as an educator, mentor, and advocate. He co-founded BLKMRKTCLT, an artist collective and gallery space. His work bridges creative expression and community development, empowering others while pushing the boundaries of his craft.
